“Israel and its allies get away with a lot by marketing this as a “war”. It’s not a war. Israel launches high-tech military explosives at civilian buildings in a huge concentration camp while Hamas fires back with glorified fireworks which do light property damage. That’s not a war, it’s a massacre…
Israel has lost the argument. Permanently. There’s no coming back from this…
Normal person: Israel is killing children by the thousands as we speak
Crazy Person: WHY AREN’T YOU CONDEMNING HAMAS?”
–Caitlin Johnstone
“As far as what’s happened so far, it’s clear that Hamas is at fault. They launched an unprovoked* attack on the Israelis. But it should be treated as a crime, not a casus belli with a military solution.
It’s very much like 9/11 in the US, which also should have been treated as a crime…”

*Saying hostile action by Palestinians against Israel is unprovoked is merely an abuse of language. Whether what was done was justified, or that noncombatant Gazan families must pay the price, are different matters entirely. I personally think the reported events of October 7 are highly suspect. It is fairly certain that some guys who were allegedly Hamas fighters crossed the heavily protected border of Gaza and did some very bad things while the IDF did nothing for hours. Either Israel’s world class defenses were and are a paper tiger, or they allowed and possibly managed this. Who the bad guys were, what they did, and why they did it are all mysteries which were immediately buried by propaganda.
These events demand careful investigation, which is most unlikely to occur, as this truly does resemble 9/11. It’s either a false flag or crisis not to be wasted, a distinction without difference. Either way the people lose and autocratic rulers and defense contractors win.
If you still believe the governments of righteous Israel and righteous America wouldn’t do such things, then you are profoundly ignorant of history.
