I originally wrote this on the eve of the 2020 American presidential election.
It makes little difference who gets picked as carnival barker for the freak show at the Potemkin Village of democracy. We will still be sliding into totalitarianism as the fiscal cliff and great reset approach.
Here is what I tell myself and anyone who will listen.
Three things are most needful now:
Simplify. By this I mean what Jesus, Lao Tze and Thoreau said.
Learn and practice self reliance and local community centeredness as if your life and protecting all you care about depend upon it, because they do. I like tech that is up through circa 1970 in its lack of electronics, modest dependence on the power grid, lack of need for specialized training/support, ruggedness and dependability.
Get right with God. The day of judgment approaches for you certainly and many probably.
